Quote I live by

“We cannot predict the value our work will provide to the world. That’s fine. It is not our job to judge our own work. It is our job to create it, to pour ourselves into it, and to master our craft as best we can.” James Clear

Poem on the Glorious Simplicity of True Self-Love

Over the years what I have learned is that true self-love really comes down to being able to sit with yourself in the most mundane moments of life, completely at peace with who you are. This poem captures that with a subtlety and cleverness my words never could. Enjoy!

LOVE AFTER LOVE
by Derek Walcott

The time will come
when, with elation,
you will greet yourself arriving
at your own door, in your own mirror,
and each will smile at the other’s welcome,
and say, sit here. Eat.
You will love again the stranger who was your self.
Give wine. Give bread. Give back your heart
to itself, to the stranger who has loved you

all your life, whom you ignored
for another, who knows you by heart.
Take down the love letters from the bookshelf,

the photographs, the desperate notes,
peel your own image from the mirror.
Sit. Feast on your life

and One More Thing

One of my newer goals…

So we all know 2020 was…depressing as hell in many ways…I can’t sugar coat it…and here we are 5 months into 2021 and things are slowly looking up…kind of

To cheer myself up one of the things that I have been focusing on over these past months is intentionally laughing more…which feels a little wild to even have as a ‘goal’ but at some point last year I realised I stopped laughing, I stopped having fun, I stopped letting play in….everything became SO SERIOUS…and yes the global situation is and was serious…but honestly, when you look back over the last 20 years/all of history…isn’t that always the case?

Regardless, or even because of, the things we move through and deal with everyday as humans, we have to make space for humour, it is one of the healthiest coping mechanisms available to us, on a social, emotional and physiological level

Are you making enough space for pure unadultered laughter in your days?

Not because you don’t care…but because actually you do care about retaining our humanity as a collective and our capacity to remain ourselves even through traumatic times

If you want to send me funny things…please do…I am always open for lols
