Book that has brought me comfort this week
The Comfort Book by Matt Haig
Filled with short chapters, quotes, slices of everyday wisdom and beautiful vulnerable shares that reminded me we are never alone in the chaos of our feelings, thoughts and strange mental patterns
We are both passengers and drivers on the journey of life, and part of the experience is learning how to move seamlessly between the two. Not trying to be the driving force when the Universe has other plans, and not sitting back and letting things happen to us when we actually have choice and agency

“Love/despair
Albert Camus said, “There is no love of life without despair of life.” When I first came across that quote I thought it was empty and pretentious and more than a little bleak. But as I grew older the words became truer. My love of life stems almost directly from despair. In the sense that I am grateful for better times having known terrible times. But in a deeper sense too. In the sense that pleasure and despair are contained in the same whole, and when we start to see the connections between all things, when we see how opposites are contained within each other, when we see the way everything connects, we can feel more empowered at our lowest points.”

I’ve been humbled this week
In fact, I’ve been humbled all year. If I had to choose my most potent 2021 lessons today they would be humility and patience (always patience, right 😉)
It’s not just about timelines, about trusting the Universe, about hope, belief and optimism
It’s about being ok when you do your absolute best as a human, be brave in showing up as your whole self, face all your fears and then some and then things don’t work out…or even worse, everything explodes in your face…🙃
It’s being able to say, that is really ok, not because it isn’t painful, or because it doesn’t break our hearts but because we don’t choose to live the way we do, with love in our hearts, compassion in our eyes and kindness on our lips, because we think it will get us something or land us somewhere
We make the choice to be the people we are out of integrity, alignment and connection to the Truth of our Souls
We serve because we care, and we care because that’s what feels real to us
We build and create empires of light within ourselves and our businesses because that is what is in alignment with who we came here to be
There is no other reason, no other purpose – just giving and receiving our medicine
