Quote I am pondering

“Man is the only animal for whom his own existence is a problem which he has to solve and from which he cannot escape.” Erich Fromm

A poem that reminds me of the majesty of humanity

A Brave And Startling Truth – Maya Angelou

Maya Angelou wrote this poem for the fiftieth anniversary of the United Nations and is a beautiful expression of hope for humanity and peace among men. As relevant and potent today as it was on its first reading in 1995.

A few of my favourite passages…

We, this people, on a small and lonely planet
Traveling through casual space
Past aloof stars, across the way of indifferent suns
To a destination where all signs tell us
It is possible and imperative that we learn
A brave and startling truth

We, this people, on this small and drifting planet
Whose hands can strike with such abandon
That in a twinkling, life is sapped from the living
Yet those same hands can touch with such healing, irresistible tenderness

When we come to it
We, this people, on this wayward, floating body
Created on this earth, of this earth
Have the power to fashion for this earth
A climate where every man and every woman
Can live freely without sanctimonious piety
Without crippling fear

When we come to it
We must confess that we are the possible
We are the miraculous, the true wonder of this world
That is when, and only when
We come to it.

and One More Thing

This week we welcome Scorpio season…I LOVE Scorpio energy

As a Scorpio rising one of my favourite things to embody is the energy of truth through transformation.

I deeply believe that we are all ever-changing infinitely powerful souls with the ability to effectively change our human experience in any moment.

It is exactly why I coach. I believe wholeheartedly in the power of knowing that we co-create our life and choosing to feel that power and channel it into doing something of value that brings meaning to this life.

“Scorpio season reveals the true cost of life. A debt that we can only pay with our own. Life is not a free ride. Life must be used to protect what is life-giving.

Scorpio season reveals the beauty of being willing to die a little everyday. Not just with age, but with ego. We can’t keep up a pristine image of ourselves and grow. We have to be willing to break the molds we are poured into, risk being raw, unkept and unafraid of the truth if we want anything like liberation.”
Chani Nicholas

As Scorpio season is about revealing truth, seeing through our shadows and living authentically…here are some journal prompts for you:What talents or gifts am I hiding in the shadows?
How can I release the fear of stepping into the spotlight?
What truth am I aching to share with the world? What is it costing me not to…?
